Had an impromptu set with Alan Hess last night at Black Dog Pizza A couple of two‑chord covers and three of my own. All literally done on the spot.

  • There is lot of unused love that is not needed, it is just the way things go go sometimes.

Perhaps this is worth investigation. Perhaps we need to be more disciplined. The undisciplined needs to be rationed.

Or maybe we have the wrong friends, or live in the wrong place. Does that sound like love.

    To be continued.

  • Riding up the Hill

A little taster of some of the new songs for a little while.

  • Bring in the New Year

Last night I did my first performance of the year at the Open Mic at The Bridge in Douglas. Just as I was about to play, my harmonica mouth holder broke 😅

Moral of the story: always take two harmonica holders with you.

I performed these new songs that I’ve been working on.

    Set list:

    1. Intro

    2. Barley & Oats

    3. Riding Up That Hill

    4. Where Do They Go (The Ones Not Represented)

    5. I Am Monkey

    6. Famous for Tomorrow

    7. Winter is Coming

Working on a Manx text version of “Winter is Coming.”

As we know it here, ‘Ta Geamyr er Gerjaghey’

  • Down to The Sea

    1.
This is never what I intended
Can't you see I wanted it to be free
To flow through my mind undefined
to take a trip through time

    But I have try
    If I have to think
    I might well just wink
Because you know the game that is in play

Take me down to the sea
    I want to be free
    Roll along with the sea

Take me down to the sea
    I want to be free
    Roll along with the sea

    2.
I can watch the moving pieces
That shoot in front of my eyes
Weaknesses that you let one fly
    You think you know why

    One can come
    Along for the ride
    Into the heart of things
    That make one wonder why

I want to go to the Sea

  • Come to The Ball

Won’t come to the ball with me tonight
Won’t come to the ball with me
Won’t come to the ball with me tonight
Won’t come to the ball with me

I am a great dancer, I am a great dancer
I can dance out of my shoes
I am a great dancer, I am a great dancer
I can dance away your blues

Won’t come to the ball with me tonight
Won’t come to the ball with me
Won’t come to the ball with me tonight
Won’t come to the ball with me

I am a great dancer, I am a great dancer
I can dance out of my socks
I am a great dancer, I am a great dancer
I can dance away your jocks

Won’t come to the ball—I will be wearing a red nose
I am very romantic, I am very romantic, I swear
I am very romantic—I’ll take you to the fair

Won’t come to the ball with me tonight
Won’t come to the ball with me
Won’t come to the ball with me tonight
Won’t come to the ball with me

I am a great dancer, I can dance all around the room
    I am a great dancer—if you don’t come, I’m bringing my broom

Won’t come to the ball with me tonight, oh darling
Won’t come to the ball with me
Won’t come to the ball with me tonight, oh darling
Won’t come to the ball with me tonight

  • Things to do

The recording progressing fast, but then I have to go back and go slow. I have 9 tracks.

    Current notes:

Changed chorus and where solo came – On winter is coming.

A little hope – scratchy guitars

Vocals not quite right on Winter is coming

    Add percussion to some tracks.
